The Slovak white water association (SZKDV) invites all ICF Federations to send teams to the Slovak Open 2008, slalom white water competition. This will be held in Bratislava - Čunovo, Slovakia from 6th to 7th September 2008 in the beautiful area of Čunovo wild water center. SZKDV looks forward to welcoming all teams, their officials and fans to World Series Slovak Open 2008.

Rules of competition

  1. The course and individual gates must be navigated in accordance with ICF rules.
  2. The organiser has set the following procedure for the competition:

    I. Entry

    Competitors are entered according to the following formula:
      • the national federation may enter no limited number of boats in each category
      • maximum number of boats started in Qualification is 250
      • maximum 20 teams in 4CAT race
      • in the case of more than 250 boats will be entered, organizer will select the best 250 boats according current ICF World Ranking (version from 18/07/2008)
      • the competition will include athletes entered directly in the semi-final selected based on their achievements: top five boats from the ICF Rankings entered in categories K1, C1, K1W, C2
      • wild card in special occasions are available

    II. Qualification

    • All competitors who have been entered must take part, except directly nominated to semi-final
    • Participants who have been directly nominated to the Semi-final on the basis of their achievements under Point I. may take part in Qualification but their result is not included in the results for qualification
    • C1W class competition will take part only during qualification race Saturday 06. September 2009

    III. Semi-final

    • The first:
      • 15 boats + 5 = 20 in category C2
      • 25 boats + 5 = 30 in category C1
      • 25 boats + 5 = 30 in category K1 W
      • 35 boats + 5 = 40 in category K1 M
      go through to the Semi-final.
    • Before the semi-final there will be an untimed training run in which all participants who are entitled to enter the Semi-final may take part. The starting interval is 30 seconds

    IV. Final

    • 10 boats are selected from each category according to the results of the Semi-final
    • Entrants start in reverse order, i.e. the first to start is the boat that came tenth in the Semi-final

    V. Number of gates

    • the number of gates for the Semi-final and Final is 20 to 24, of which 8 are up-streams.
    • the course for the Semi-final and the Final will be completely different from the Qualification course

Entry Fee for National teams

The entry fee is 20 Euro per boat per competition. The fee covers competitions, does NOT cover accommodation, food and transportation. The entry fee must by covered by accreditation in the race office.

Training Opportunities

Training hours will be available for all participants following by request sent to: areal@divokavoda.sk
Training sessions are available from 1th to 4th September 2008. From 4th September are all training sesions free of charge.
